A trust in the name of Maruthi Educational Trust was organized in the year 1996 aiming at astablishing various educational Institutions to begin with the trust started Maruthi Polytechnic college , Secondly it started Maruthi Hr.Sec.school , Maruthi Teacher Training Institute , Maruthi College Of Education and Sri Jay Maruthi Polytechnic college.
Maruthi Institutions were established under Maruthi Educational Trust. The institutions have constructed a spacious building as per statutory norms laid by the NCTE and TamilNadu Teachers Education University. The college is situated in a very ideal and lush green atmosphere away from noise and pollution of city life.
Maruthi College of Education started in the year of 2007 and has been conducting courses for Bachelor Education and Master Education.
